Fighting DUI/DWI Charges
An arrest for DUI is frightening. Due to the great public interest in stopping public intoxication and drunk driving, police officers are encouraged to make traffic stops and arrests. The law firm of Brown & Norton has proved in numerous cases that law enforcement has cut corners and ignored protocols in their efforts to build a record of being tough on drunk driving.
Working for you
The Brown & Norton lawyers work to have drunk driving charges dismissed in appropriate cases. In addition, if we go to trial, we fight to have our client found not guilty or have the charges reduced. If you are facing a DUI/DWI charge, contact our San Antonio lawyers to learn how we can help. Whether this is your first DUI or you are being charged with vehicular manslaughter, we will work hard for you.
Consequences of DUI arrest
Citizens charged with a DUI face serious penalties. They may lose their driver's license. People charged with DUI may be fired because they cannot get to work. Multiple DUI convictions can lead to jail time, probation and/or significant fines.
You have only 15 days to get your license back
In addition to facing criminal charges, people arrested for a DUI can have their license seized if they fail or refuse a Breathalyzer test. They receive a temporary license and 15 days to notify the Department of Public Safety (DPS) that they will be challenging the seizure of their driver's license. If they do not fight the license suspension, they could lose their license for years, depending on the outcome of the DUI criminal case.
Representing clients at ALR hearings
Our attorneys will attend the administrative licensing revocation hearing (ALR) to challenge the license suspension. We can challenge whether you received proper notification of your rights, and make sure the officer can demonstrate probable cause to conduct a traffic stop. We know how important it is to be able to drive.
We often obtain occupational licenses for people who have not been able to get their driving privileges reinstated. Contact us right away at (210) 227-5103 to get started with your DUI defense.
